Dear Santa,
It’s me.
Hi. The mom who wrapped everyone else’s gifts, planned the class party, remembered the teacher gifts, and somehow kept the dog from eating the gingerbread house (barely). I know you’re busy, but I figured I’d send you a little update on what I’d actually like for Christmas this year, you know, since no one else in this household ever checks my wishlist unless it’s mid-December panic mode.
1. A Cute Bag. A Really Cute Bag.
Confession…I have carried the same “mom bag” for three consecutive sports seasons. I deserve something with personality and something that says, “Yes, I have snacks in here, but also? I’m still fun.”
That’s why I’ve been eyeing the Fringed Tote Bag (any of the three styles will do — I’m not picky). The fringed edges? The carpet-bag glam? The way it looks like I might spontaneously jet off to a long weekend in Lisbon? That one. Please.
And while we’re on the topic, I would not say no to the Farrah Suede Hobo Bag. It’s giving “effortlessly sophisticated woman who sometimes gets to finish her coffee.” I’ll take that energy into the new year.
2. Jewelry That Says “She Still Has Sparkle.”
Santa, the kids made me a macaroni necklace last year, and yes, I wore it proudly… but maybe this year we elevate? The Ringo Necklace, the bold gold beetle with blue stones, is exactly the kind of effortlessly cool style I need. Imagine me wearing it to a boozy brunch with my girlfriends? A mom can dream.
3. A Reason to Cook Joyfully Again
If you want to sprinkle a little domestic enchantment my way, I’d happily accept the Carnation Block Print Apron. Maybe I will get to do some baking in peace so I don’t burn any trays. Maybe I’ll host a little family cooking night. Or maybe I’ll just wear it while door-dashing for dinner and pretending I cooked. That’s between you and me.
4. Cozy Pajamas for the Five Minutes I’m Not Doing Something
This one is important. The China Bloom Blues Pajamas look like what a woman wears when she has her life together. Soft, romantic, pretty — basically everything I aspire to be after 9 p.m. These would be perfect for my dream holiday activities:
-
Going to bed early (lol, imagine).
-
Drinking tea while it’s still hot.
-
Reading two full pages of a book uninterrupted.
-
Watching a movie that isn’t animated.
5. A Luxe Gym Bag to Pretend I’m Organized
My current gym bag has been through eras.
The Luxe Gym Bag would give me the fresh start I need for January! Yoga mat pocket, water bottle compartments, the whole “I’m a woman who shows up to Pilates on purpose” vibe. My goal is to get to more classes with friends this year and get to the track in the early morning before my daily chaos starts.
And lastly, Santa…
If there’s room on the sleigh, could I also get:
-
A peaceful solo stroll through a museum
-
A coffee date with myself
-
A Saturday nap (the mythical kind)
-
And a family outing where no one whines, cries, or argues about snacks?
Just putting it out there.
Thanks for listening, Santa. If you could forward this list to anyone who may or may not ask, “What do you want for Christmas?” on December 23rd, I’d appreciate it.
Love,
A Mom Who Has Been Very Good This Year (Even If Her Kids Disagree)
